Congratulations! Bringing home a new baby, your whole world changes. The phrase "moments are fleeting takes on a new meaning as you begin to understand just how quickly time passes with your precious little one. Babies change and grow so quickly - especially in those early day of their life!
Safety is my top priority. Sessions are baby-led with natural poses keeping the primary focus on your new bundle of joy.
Experienced I have many years of experience working with tiny humans of all ages with an Early Childhood background. I am always registering for workshops to further my knowledge of newborn & children photography.
I recommend booking your newborn session as far in advance as you can. Typically newborn sessions are held when baby is between 7 and 20 days old. I have found the sweet spot is within their second week of arrival. At this stage, they are still comfortable curled up into the squishy fetal position - and spend most of their time sleeping with longer periods between feedings. This also gives you time to bond and heal while learning everything about your new little one.
Simple Portraiture My style is simple and relaxed. I strongly believe that newborn sessions should be baby-led - which means baby will never be put into a pose or position that could be harmful the them. {if baby doesn't naturally go into the pose, you won't find it in my workflow, like the froggie pose}
Natural Posing Over the years I have developed a workflow of fresh, clean and timeless setups following baby's lead that will deliver high quality portraits that are treasured for multiple generations to come.
Newborn sessions take place in my studio located in SW community of Evergreen in Calgary, Alberta.
Relaxed My goal is to make things as seamless as possible for you. The days following a birth can be a whirlwind of activity and emotions - so think of your newborn sessions as a time to slow down and savor some quiet moments with your new little one.
I take on the task of preparing your session workflow. The studio is stocked with plenty of high quality props, blankets, wraps, outfits, hats, tie-backs, floordrops and accessories. I am always on the look out to add more to my collection. I co-ordinate each session with your color preferences to compliment your home.
